Step 2. Keyword & Competition Research using iSpionage Keyword & Domain Research Module
Here's how you do it:
- Come up with 25-50 keywords for each of the 5 offers that you selected
- Now enter each keyword from the list above into Google.
- Write down the :
- Advertisers who show up on the first page of Google
- Their ad copy,
- Destination URL and ad position into a spread sheet
- Repeat steps 1-3 for a week.
- After the week of data collection, your spread sheet should now be ready for analysis.
Here's why it’s important for you to do this.
In affiliate marketing, where many people are promoting the same product, the key differentiator is not the product, but the marketing strategy that surrounds it, which includes such things as:
- Keyword selection
- Ad copies
- Ad position
- Landing page
- What search engine the promotion happens
You want to know who the real players are and how they're doing it. The logic goes like this:
If an affiliate keeps showing up for an offer for a long period of time, there's a good chance that he/she is running a profitable campaign.
Even though it's a lot of work, it is crucial for you to know your niche inside out to succeed in this endeavor.
Don’t have time to manually enter the keywords into Google each day for a week? iSpionage PPC Competitive Intelligence has been specifically designed to do it for you.
You can enter in those keywords into the system, and iSpionage will monitor them on daily basis.
